Mafioso Economy, Police State
A Sci-Fi Tale of Surveillance, Extortion and Fascism

The Neuromesh Dictate: By 2035, the United States has descended into a fractured dystopia, ruled by a technocratic elite ensconced in fortified enclaves. The Neuromesh (“Spearheading the New Era of AI”), an AI network born from a Palantir-Mossad-CIA collaboration, monitors every citizen, directing vigilante units and National Guard “quick reaction forces” to quash dissent. ICE, now swollen with militia recruits, conducts relentless nightly raids, while checkpoints choke urban mobility.
The genocide in Gaza is complete, and “Greater Israel” remains embroiled in endless regional wars. In the US, 90% of the population in poverty, scraping by on meager Universal Basic Income. Truth is drowned in a flood of misinformation from the Ministry of Truth, broadcast via TruthSocial, as democracy fades into a distant memory, supplanted by a new order enforced by the Neuromesh.
Trump and The Road to 2035
The roots of this dystopian future lie in 2025, cultivated by Donald Trump’s mafia-like rhetoric and actions, which have reshaped American governance. Drawing from documented events, Trump’s leadership mirrors organized crime tactics—demanding loyalty, wielding coercive threats, and flouting institutional norms. His behavior, steeped in decades of ties to mob figures and amplified in his second term as the 47th president, paves the way for the Neuromesh-driven dystopia.
The Revolving Door and the March Toward Quasi-Fascism
A critical enabler of this trajectory is the “revolving door” between US public office and private sector roles, which fosters state-corporate collusion veering toward quasi-fascist governance (or call it national socialist, or socialism for oligarchs or, simply, kleptocracy. Figures like Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Donald Trump exemplify this, leveraging government influence for personal profit. Cheney, as Halliburton’s CEO, secured Iraq War contracts after steering defense deals to its subsidiary as Vice President. Rumsfeld used FDA influence to push aspartame approval for Searle, later profiting at Gilead Sciences. Trump’s presidency has enriched his businesses, with his 2025 Intel stake proposal and cryptocurrency ventures like World Liberty Financial blending state power with corporate gain. This pattern, also evident in Paul O’Neill, Henry Paulson, and Steve Mnuchin, creates a system where public office becomes a stepping-stone to private wealth, eroding democratic accountability. Without robust ethical oversight, this revolving door entrenches an exploitative, fascism-adjacent framework where corporate and state interests merge.
Trump’s language often channels a mob boss’s cadence, a trait noted by critics and allies. In 2019, Michael Cohen testified that Trump used a “mafia-like code,” avoiding explicit orders but implying expectations through veiled terms. A 2024 hush-money trial recording captured Trump discussing payments to silence Karen McDougal in cryptic language, referencing “our friend David” (David Pecker) and “information” as euphemisms for cash. Attorney John J. Perlstein likened this to mob tactics for plausible deniability. In August 2025, Trump’s menacing rhetoric surfaced in talks with international leaders, with an X post quoting him: “You’re either going to make a deal, or we’re out. And if we’re out, you’ll find out… You’re not acting at all thankful… and that’s not a nice thing.” Described as “Sopranos-like,” this mirrors a mob don’s demand for loyalty. His 2025 clashes with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, alongside JD Vance’s accusations of “disrespect,” normalizing a transactional, loyalty-obsessed political culture where dissent equals betrayal.
Historical Mob Connections
Trump’s mafia-like approach builds on decades of ties to organized crime. In the 1980s, his real estate ventures, including Trump Tower and Trump Plaza, relied on mob-controlled firms. He bought overpriced concrete from companies linked to Genovese boss Anthony “Fat Tony” Salerno and Gambino boss Paul Castellano, as federal investigations revealed. His mentor, Roy Cohn, counsel to Salerno and John Gotti, shaped Trump’s transactional worldview. Atlantic City casino dealings involved figures like Kenneth Shapiro, a Philadelphia mob associate, and Daniel Sullivan, tied to the Genovese family. Despite denying these links under oath, Trump admitted to the Associated Press in 1998 that he dealt with “the mob” and “some of the roughest men” in construction. His ties extended to Felix Sater, linked to Russian organized crime, and Bob Libutti, a racehorse swindler and casino customer. In 2013, Trump told David Letterman that mobsters were “very nice people.”
Second Term: Institutionalizing Mob Tactics
Since 2025, Trump’s second term has embedded these tactics into governance, prioritizing loyalty over legality and wielding state power for personal vengeance:
Surveillance and Vengeance: The administration employs AI-driven surveillance, including facial recognition and StingRay devices, to target dissenters. Thom Hartmann reported in August 2025 that these tools create “centralized dossiers” on protesters, enabling fabricated charges against critics like John Bolton and Adam Schiff. Trump’s FBI, led by Kash Patel, purges nonpartisan officials, replacing them with loyalists like Pam Bondi and Dan Bongino, echoing Soviet-style purges.
An Israeli man has launched Gideon, "America's first ever AI threat detection platform,” built specifically for law enforcement. It scrapes the internet [for key words, patterns, contacts, etc], and builds a profile of everyone].
ICE as a Paramilitary Force: Stephen Miller’s expanded ICE, incorporating militia recruits, targets law-abiding immigrants like Kilmar Abrego García while allegedly cutting deals with groups like MS-13 to shield allies like El Salvador’s President Bukele. Raids on residences and workplaces disregard habeas corpus.
Trump is taking control of the military, firing the best officers, and politicizing West Point and Annapolis; making venomous attacks on the courts that dare defy him, as well as the media, law firms and universities. Trump is also building an international crime and corruption syndicate. Many see the resemblance to Germany in 1935..
Foreign Policy as a Protection Racket: Trump’s international approach mimics a mafia protection scheme. In February 2025, he demanded 50% of Ukraine’s rare earth minerals for past aid, a deal Zelenskyy rejected for lacking security guarantees. Threats to exit NATO unless Europe complies with economic demands reflect a “pay-for-protection” mentality, with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth signaling unilateral Russia-Ukraine talks. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Trump of attempting to “annex” Canada through economic pressure, akin to mob tactics in New Jersey’s construction industry.
Economic Manipulation: Trump’s World Liberty Financial, tied to cryptocurrency schemes, enriches his family while the broader economy falters.
Trump just used $8.9 billion in taxpayer funds to buy a 10% stake in Intel, converting CHIPS Act grants into equity. This unprecedented state-corporate merger, marked by coercive tactics like pressuring Intel’s CEO to resign, signals a march toward fascist governance. By blending state power with corporate interests, Trump’s move risks cronyism, market distortion, and taxpayer losses, given Intel’s $18.8 billion 2024 loss. Critics, including conservatives, decry it as “corporate socialism.” Profesor of economics and public policy Justin Wolf says Trump is establishing a wealth fund, by borrowing money in the global market, to have stock pickers in the White House use it to play the Wall Street stock market.
With plans for similar stakes in other industries, this deal reflects a pattern of state control over private enterprise, threatening democratic norms and free markets with quasi-fascist state-corporate collusion. Transparency and oversight are urgently needed.
Trump’s admiration for mafia culture shapes this trajectory. Appointing Charles Kushner, a convicted felon, as ambassador to France and dissolving kleptocracy task forces normalize corruption. The January 6, 2021, Capitol attack and 2023 Georgia RICO charges, likening Trump to a “criminal enterprise” leader, foreshadow governance through fear, loyalty, and selective law enforcement.
Succession
Recent reports of Trump’s health issues—chronic venous insufficiency causing edema in his legs and hands—alongside his August 2025 comment about wanting to “get into heaven” and being “at the bottom of the totem pole,” suggest a private diagnosis of serious illness, a shift from his usual bravado. His sycophants are pivoting to JD Vance, Peter Thiel’s protégé, whom Trump called his “most likely” successor. Rick Wilson of The Lincoln Project notes that if Vance amplifies MAGA cruelty on immigration and anti-vax rhetoric, he could eclipse Trump’s influence. Elon Musk’s shift from a third-party bid to supporting Vance signals a pragmatic move, possibly anticipating Trump’s decline. Trump’s absence from public view since August 26, 2025, with no events scheduled, fuels speculation of imminent incapacity or death. While his passing might spark celebration, joy will be fleeting unless the public unites against Trump-aligned Republicans in a manner reminiscent of MLK’s Civil Rights campaign.
A Path Forward
Preventing this dystopian future demands urgent action: transparency in surveillance, banning warrantless data collection, and restoring DOJ independence to counter loyalist purges. The over 300 lawsuits against Trump’s administration, to date, can slow the erosion of checks and balances. Building parallel structures—community networks, independent media, and grassroots resistance—can preserve truth and resilience. Humor targeting Trump’s regime, while not policy-changing, helps cope with tyranny, framing the struggle as the People vs. the Powerful.
The Neuromesh’s surveillance web, fueled by Trump’s mafia-like tactics and the revolving door’s state-corporate collusion, risks entrenching a technocratic elite ruling through fear and misinformation. By 2035, the US could be a land of fortified enclaves where dissent is crushed, and truth is a relic. Only collective action and accountability can avert this nightmare, steering the nation toward a just, unified future.
