The Unholy Trinity: Putin, Tech Titans, and MAGA’s Dark Dream
Every online action—what a person clicks, buys, watches or listens to—is collected and analyzed by AI, to the point that machine learning algorithms can predict your personality traits better than your own friends, family, and spouse can.
Orwell believed that the State of the future will establish its power by destroying souls, that people would be coerced, not cosseted, into soullessness; would be dehumanized by a marginal life of deprivation, dullness, and fear of pain, not by sex, massage, and private helicopters. I would say a combination of coercion, with interactive media a la Farenheit 451, for the 90%, and sex & toys for a relatively well-off 9.9%, with the 99.9% ruled over by the 0.001% and the 0.099% of their corporate underlings.
America stands at a precipice, teetering between democracy’s fragile shell and a fractured dystopia that could fulfill George Orwell’s grim prophecy in 1984. Three forces—Vladimir Putin’s long game to destabilize the West, a tech-billionaire cabal inspired by Curtis Yarvin’s neo-feudal fantasies, and a MAGA Christian base sculpted by decades of strategic religious nationalism—are converging to dismantle the United States. Their endgame? A continent of tech-ruled fiefdoms surrounded by a neo-Dark Age wasteland, potentially coalescing into Orwell’s three megastates: Eurasia under Putin, Eastasia under Xi Jinping, and Oceania under Donald Trump or his heir, J.D. Vance. This is no conspiracy theory spun from thin air—it’s a synthesis of strategies already in motion, visible in the headlines and the shadows.
Start with Putin. Decades ago, Soviet defector Yuri Bezmenov warned U.S. media of a Kremlin playbook: destabilize a nation by amplifying ideological division, eroding trust in institutions, and fostering cultural decay over generations. Putin, a KGB alumnus, has honed this into an art form—backing far-right movements, sowing disinformation, and weakening democratic cohesion. His goal isn’t invasion but collapse, a United States too fragmented to resist Russian ascendancy. Now look at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Trump’s pet project with Elon Musk at its helm. The New York Times reports a purge of federal workers—tens of thousands slashed, with diversity programs gutted and independent agencies targeted. This isn’t mere cost-cutting; it’s a deliberate hollowing-out of the state, aligning eerily with Bezmenov’s vision of institutional rot.
Enter Curtis Yarvin, the obscure blogger-turned-prophet of a “tech-broligarchy.” Yarvin dreams of dismantling democracy for a patchwork of sovereign fiefdoms, each ruled by a tech titan—Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg—wielding absolute power like medieval lords. DOGE’s workforce cuts and deregulation fetish aren’t random; they’re steps toward this vision, shrinking government to a husk that billionaires can carve up. Musk, with his X platform amplifying MAGA fervor, and Thiel, bankrolling Vance’s rise, are already positioning themselves as feudal overlords. Their fossil-fuel allies—oil barons clinging to carbon empires—cheer the chaos, knowing fragmented governance means unchecked extraction.
The muscle behind this? MAGA Christians, a bloc forged over decades by the Heritage Foundation, the Family Research Council, and the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). Since the 1980 GOP-SBC alliance, these groups have molded evangelicals into a political battering ram, steeped in Christian nationalism. Their intellectual godfather, Leo Strauss, preached a secretive elite “opiating the masses” with religion to maintain order in a diverse world. Today’s MAGA faithful—dreaming of a fascist theocracy where biblical law trumps the Constitution—are the perfect pawns. They rally for Trump, oblivious that his tech allies see them as serfs, not saints, in their fiefdom fantasy.
Domestically, this could birth a nightmare. Picture North America split into a few tech fiefdoms—glittering enclaves where Musk’s AI drones patrol and Bezos’s logistics reign, while outside, a Mad Max wasteland festers. Epidemics rage unchecked, gangs roam, and science becomes superstition as survivors gape at the walled cities in awe. Inside, a “tech-broligarchy” thrives—data lords taxing digital serfs, fossil-fuel captains pumping the last oil, and Christian nationalists policing morality. The U.S. government, already shrinking under DOGE’s axe, dissolves entirely, leaving no counterweight.
Globally, this sets the stage for Orwell’s 1984. Putin, consolidating Eurasia from Lisbon to Vladivostok, rules a surveillance empire fueled by fossil wealth and fear. Xi Jinping’s Eastasia, spanning China to the Pacific, marries tech tyranny with party control, a sleek dystopia of obedience. And Oceania—North America’s remnants—falls to Trump or Vance, Thiel’s protégé, blending MAGA’s populist rage with tech-billionaire autocracy. These megastates, locked in a cold war of attrition, wield Newspeak and doublethink to keep their masses docile. “War is Peace” chants Oceania’s base, saluting Trump’s pardoned January 6 “patriots” as heroes.
How does this unfold? Putin’s disinformation keeps America divided, MAGA Christians storm ballot boxes, and DOGE dismantles the state while tech titans buy up the pieces. The world watches as democracy crumbles, then realigns into Orwell’s triad. It’s not inevitable—public awakening could halt it—but the gears are grinding. We’re not just losing jobs or agencies; we’re losing a nation, and perhaps a world, to a dystopia darker than Orwell dared imagine.
